Sustainability & Design

Hotel Marcel New Haven holds the LEED Platinum certification and is expected to become the first Passive House-certified hotel in the United States. The building operates on a zero fossil fuel model, using all-electric systems for heating, cooling, and cooking. The structure, originally the Pirelli Tire building, was designed by Bauhaus architect Marcel Breuer.

Rooms & Technology

Guest rooms include innovative technology such as mobile key entry and in-room controls for lighting, temperature, and blackout blinds. Every floor offers a water station with still, sparkling, and hot filtered water, refillable through glass bottles provided in each room. Rooms are equipped with flat-screen TVs, desks, and free toiletries.

The on-site restaurant BLDG serves modern American fare with a focus on sustainability and locally sourced ingredients. The bar offers a selection of cocktails and holds happy hour events for guests.
